Tip #1 - Never buy products from www.bestbuy.com. Their shipping is horrible, and the packaging is even worse. I got products from them that were smashed and sometimes completely broken. For a big company like BestBuy, you think they would have better packaging than a bag folded a few times. If you really can't help but buy from BestBuy and you don't want smashed or damaged products than buy all products directly from the store; However this also can be troublesome, I once had to exchange a Ghost in the Shell box set three times before I got a product that was not as badly damaged as the previous ones (it still was damaged and I had to repair it with superglue because they had no more stock). Tip #2 - When buying anime online make sure the seller has the studio listed. If they don't have it listed then ask the seller for it. The studio would be who has licensed that anime, such as: Bandai Entertainment, Funimation, ADV Films, & VIZ Media. Never buy anime that has the logo "fx" on it, that anime is bootleg. When buying anime, if the price looks to good to be true chances are it's bootleg. Another way to tell if it's bootleg is if it doesn't have both English & Japanese audio with only English subtitles, anime never has one audio (unless it's an import and in that case it shouldn't have English subtitles) and never has Chinese subtitles. Tip #3 - Support the anime industry!!! You downloading all your anime isn't supporting anything! In fact it's hurting the industry! Buying your anime from ebay doesn't help either! If you love anime, and want to keep it around in the United States for awhile (as well as the companies that provide you with those nice english dubs/subs) then PLEASE buy your anime from www.rightstuf.com or some other 'direct' way that supports the actual companies behind the anime!
Tip #1 - Always have an antivirus installed on your computer; I suggest ESET's NOD32 Antivirus, it's very simple to use and does a wonderful job protecting your computer system while using hardly any resources.
Tip #1 - When attending a convention and you see people cosplaying/in costumes, ask if you can take a picture before doing so. |
